Why We Chose to Stop Selling On Amazon
We sold our products on Amazon for almost two years but decided it best to leave.
Here's why:
Many of our customers who purchased our products on Amazon have asked us why we left that platform, so we wanted to take a few minutes to explain why we found it in our best interest to leave. It was a difficult decision, but in the end, the right one for us.
Once we got on our competitors radar, we began to notice odd things happening that we determined were the result of unscrupulous competitors trying to ruin our product's reputation.
Some of what occurred included:
-
The same customer buying multiple bottles of products and then returning them claiming they were "damaged," when in fact, they were in perfect condition.
-
One-star ratings on products that weren't tied or traceable to a specific account. When we appealed or requested to contact the reviewer, Amazon chose not to respond to our requests. Prior to this flurry of negative reviews, our products had a 4.8 star rating.
-
Multiple returns of un-opened, and as a result, unsellable bottles with no reason for the return. Why order a product you don't even bother to open?
-
Disingenuous, misleading questions being asked about our products on our seller page.
-
Amazon randomly deciding to send us back containers of product that were damaged in the picking/shipping process. These containers were now unsellable and Amazon refused to take responsibility for our losses despite the containers being shipped to them in perfect condition.
-
Amazon would randomly--and without warning--take down our products for non-existent issues. It would sometimes take us days to work these out, resulting in lost revenues.
-
Requests for information they already had but in slightly different formats. These "formatting" changes could cost upwards of $1,200 to $2,000, again, for information they already had on our products.
Again, it was not an easy decision to leave, but we feel confident that we can deliver you a higher quality product directly than through Amazon. Please let us know if you have any questions.
